More About Constanta, Romania

Constanta is one of the oldest cities in Romania and is located on the coast of the Black Sea. The city is known for its beaches and becomes a very tourist city during the summer.

The city is made up of mostly Romanians but there are some others (including Tatars and Turkish people). Religiously speaking, there are some Muslims but a majority of the people are Romanian Orthodox.

Constanta also has one of the biggest ports on the Black Sea and has many other tourist attractions like museums. In the pictures above, on the right you can see the “Casino” which has been featured in a James Bond movie.

Each summer, Constanta also hold a music festival known as “NeverSea” which draws even more tourists than usual during that week.

When it’s not summer, Constanta returns to normal and there isn’t as much traffic or people everywhere. Our YWAM base is a 5 minute walk from the beach so we’re able to see this first hand.
